Welcome!

I am often amazed by the journey that led to Only Little Once.  Six years ago,  I was inspired to create a children's clothing brand that captured the magic of childhood.

With no formal training, but a vision for the brand, I learned along the way.  I wanted to create high quality clothing, and not play clothes, and Only Little Once began.  There has been an evolution of style as I settled into my comfort zone.

My designs are inspired by two things.

I grew up in a cottage on Lake Michigan that was built in the 1890's.  My family had a passion for antiques, vintage and retro items, especially furniture, linens, and pottery.  I frequently visited antique stores and estate sales with my parents, and developed an appreciation for all things antique and vintage.  Antique artwork and garments inspire me...there is something fabulous about taking something old and making it new again.  I chose the name Only Little Once as a reminder to us "older people" that our girls will only be little once.  They will grow out of the ruffles, lace and tulle.  It's important to appreciate every second of their childhood, as one day it will be missed.

Secondly, since they are children, I wanted to create clothing that was comfortable.  There is not enough time to hassle with "scratchy dresses", or impractical styles, especially for special occasions like family pictures, Easter, and weddings.  We want to enjoy the little moments with them, but little is the enjoyment when they are not in comfortable clothing.  Because of this, I use only the softest brushed stretch cotton and fabrics, and most dresses are lined with a high thread count, 100% cotton slip.

I can not describe in words my appreciation for a loyal following and for allowing me to design clothing that your children truly love.  Without your support, Only Little Once would not have begun.  Thank you so much for supporting my small business!

xoxo,

Eden
